I decided to pair this recipe with a picture of Greta Garbo who was famously quoted as saying, “I want to be alone.”  What she really said was, “I want to be left alone.”  Truth be told, I don’t mind being alone.  Not all the time – nothing is more important to happiness than loving another person.  But, the joys of being alone are myriad.  Eat what you want, drink what you want, read all night, kiss your dog on the nose, flip channels and listen to Maria Callas or The Beatles (LOUD). And treat yourself to a decadently elegant dinner.   Now, it is crucial that you subscribe to Crowd Cow so that you can order these individually packaged frozen fish fillets.  Take a single package out of the freezer in the morning.  When you get home, pop it in the oven, then serve it to yourself on your most precious china.  If you really want to take yourself on a date, make a silky beurre blanc and open a bottle of white burgundy.  Do what you want to do!  Because when you’re alone, you’re with someone who loves you.

Ingredients

    Directions

You need to subscribe to Crowd Cow and keep this fish in your freezer. Thaw fish in the morning when you anticipate a rough day. When you come home, put on some good music, cook this fish and sit down to enjoy. You might have to throw out that sheet pan you used to broil the fish. The sugars in the miso burn on the pan but they become a gorgeous caramel on the top of the broiled fish! Who cares, you can buy another sheet pan at Home Goods this Saturday! It's cheaper than dining at NOBU so you really are saving money.

    Step 1

Place fish on a sheet pan and cook at 450 degrees for 20 minutes. Then, BROIL for 2 or 3 minutes or until the top of the fish is caramelized. It's that easy.

    Step 2

To Plate: Serve on a scoop of jasmine rice in a pool of Beurre Blanc. Dot with Tabasco sauce and sprinkle with scallions.

    Step 3

I WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE WHILE I ENJOY THIS GORGEOUS AND OH SO SIMPLE DISH !
